On October 2018, the trump administration notified the congress that the president intended to negotiate a trade agreement between US and UK. The United States seeks to support the jobs market and growth between US and UK, by exploring trading opportunities with the UK.
This agreement is to set rules on both tariff and non tariff barriers and to stimulate both US and UK trading economies, representing more than $230 billion a year.
As part of the negotiation process the administration has held a public hearing on January 29, 2019, to hear the testimony of 24 witnesses regarding objectives and both parties positions.
